Reach vs AIApply: an honest comparison

AIApply sells a broad kit: auto-apply, a resume builder, cover letters and interview tools that include a live interview assistant. Reach, by Vine AI, is narrower and slower on purpose: it screens each posting against your actual constraints before anything is written, builds a resume and cover letter for that specific job, and holds the application for your approval by default. This comparison is written by the Reach team, so we have kept the AIApply facts checkable, flagged what we could not verify, and said plainly where AIApply is the better choice. AIApply details are as of October 2026; check aiapply.co for its current plans and features.

What both tools do

Both use AI to apply to jobs on your behalf, both write cover letters, and both help with resumes.

AIApply describes itself as an auto-apply service with a suite around it: a resume builder, AI cover letters and interview preparation, including a live interview assistant meant to help during a real interview. A reviewer reports per-role resume tailoring alongside the cover letters. We could not verify whether it holds applications for review, automates LinkedIn Easy Apply or tracks employer replies, so we do not guess. It has a large public review record: 1,855 reviews on Trustpilot averaging 4.2 out of 5.

Reach is an AI job-search agent that finds jobs, scores them, writes a resume and cover letter for each application, submits it, and tracks what comes back. Its inventory is scraped continuously from eleven applicant tracking system (ATS) families, including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, plus employer career pages and public job APIs such as USAJOBS and Adzuna. You can run up to eight personas, each a career track with its own resume, criteria and scoring, and a job is never applied to twice under different personas. Before any AI reads a posting, deterministic gates remove what you cannot or will not take: location eligibility, salary floor, seniority, work type, schedule, direct employer versus staffing agency, company blocklist, title words to skip, non-compete employers, and government contracting and security clearance filters. Reach applies on the employer's own careers site or ATS and never automates LinkedIn, Indeed or Glassdoor.

Where Reach wins

Gates before volume. Trustpilot complaints about AIApply include applications to roles that did not fit and wrong work-authorization or salary answers submitted. Reach's answer to the first is structural: postings closed to your location, paying below your floor, at the wrong level or reposted by a staffing agency are removed by rules before they can become an application. It also keeps one application per employer and title (to the site nearest home), holds other roles at an employer while an interview there is live, and skips employers that rejected you after an interview.

Grounded documents per application. Every application gets its own resume and cover letter, written from your real history. A grounding check compares every claim against that history and flags anything invented, and you can read and edit both before they ship. Your uploaded resume is never rewritten.

Careful form answers. Screening questions are answered from your saved answers, resume and persona; an in-progress degree is never reported as earned, and questions with no evidence are left for you rather than guessed.

Review mode by default. Every application waits for your approval unless you turn on auto-apply for a persona, and you can pause it at any time.

No credits on top of a subscription. Reach's paid plans include their applications. Reach does meter tailored document packages on Free and Basic, but one credit covers the first package for a job, regenerating or editing it is free, and running out never stalls anything: applications keep going out with your base resume. Trustpilot reviewers of AIApply specifically complain that auto-apply needed extra credits beyond the subscription.

Its own apply inbox. Each user gets a private apply address. One-time codes and "verify your email" links are completed automatically, so Reach can finish portals that need an account plus an emailed code, and it sees the confirmation, the rejection or the recruiter reply. You can answer recruiters from inside Reach.

Price. Reach Pro is $15 a month with unlimited applications. Third-party reports put AIApply's paid plans at about $30 to $49 a month, and about $68 to $89 a month for 100 or more applications once credits are added; those figures are unverified.

Where AIApply wins

Live interview help. AIApply offers a live interview assistant alongside its interview prep. Reach's interview support is a written primer for the stage you are at, plus scheduling and calendar tools. If you want help in the moment rather than homework before it, AIApply has something Reach does not.

A large review record. 1,855 Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.2 out of 5 is a real body of evidence, complaints included, that you can read before paying. Reach was founded in 2026 by Bryan Vine, has a small user base and no independent review record yet. If you want a tool thousands of people have already tested, that is AIApply.

Breadth in one place. Resume builder, cover letters, auto-apply and interview tooling under one brand is convenient if you want a single subscription for every stage.

Possibly more volume. Credit packs of 100 or 250 suggest AIApply is built to send in quantity. Reach caps auto-apply volume on purpose.

Pricing

AIApply's public pricing page shows no dollar figures, so its column relies on third-party reports. Treat them as approximate and confirm on aiapply.co.

Reach accepts Apple Pay and Google Pay, and pays referrals in plan time: a friend who joins gets two free weeks of Basic, and you get a free week. Some AIApply reviewers report unexpected renewals, so check the renewal terms of whichever tool you buy.

What Reach gets wrong

Inventory is US centric, and coverage elsewhere is thinner. The company is young, with a small user base and no independent reviews. Auto-apply volume is capped on purpose, so if you want hundreds of applications a week, Reach will feel slow. There is no LinkedIn Easy Apply support. Complicated employer portals sometimes park in Needs attention for you to finish, often live through the browser extension. Interview support is written primers, not live coaching, and there is no native mobile app, only an installable web app with push notifications.
